on april 27th, liu jinjin, a 2020 doctoral student from the school of physics, published a paper entitled “nodeless electron pairing in csv3sb5-derived kagome superconductors” in the main journal of nature as the co-first author. based on the preparation of high-quality doped csv3sb5 single crystal samples, this paper reports the direct observation of a nodeless, nearly isotropic and orbital-independent superconducting gap in two csv3sb5-derived kagome superconductors, reveals that this kind of material has the characteristics of time-reversal symmetry (trs) breaking in the superconducting state and extends the time-reversal symmetry breaking of the charge density wave observed in the kagome lattice before. the comprehensive characterizations of the superconducting gap advance the understanding of the superconductivity and intertwined electronic orders in quantum materials, and provide indispensable information on the electron pairing symmetry of kagome superconductors.
in recent years, bit has carried out a series of talents training reforms. we constantly strengthen professional basic knowledge learning, increase international exchanges and cooperation, and give full play to the role of high-level scientific research platforms and major cutting-edge basic research projects. we implement the “bellwether innovative talent cultivation” project in which excellent supervisors guide outstanding doctoral students, and set up a fund for outstanding doctoral students. we allocate high-quality resources, host high-end academic exchange meetings, and increase the reward for outstanding achievements in order to promote the continuous output of high-level academic achievements. in the past two years, graduates have published or participated in the publication of 7 papers in the main journals of science/nature as co-first authors, which marks that bit’s graduate education has achieved remarkable achievements in the cultivation of innovative talents in basic disciplines.
